Near the end of 2008, I was talking to Mike Long about my aspirations of writing a book on Magic strategy. This is great for keeping up with current trends however I miss the timeless nature of a book and the organizing of general Magic theory that is only possible with a much more extensive work. These days, there is no shortage of media available online, updating every week or even day. While the technological level of Baxter’s books is very low by today’s standards, they were groundbreaking at the time and it was immensely satisfying to be able to read so much about the game I love and love to think about.
